Current and Upcoming Opportunities

  • Ecosystem Coordination Board Meeting: February 16
  • Leadership Council Meeting: February 29–March 1
  • Leadership Council Meeting: April 26–27

Draft Soundwide strategies and actions for reducing pressures on the Puget Sound ecosystem from land development, shoreline alteration, runoff from the built environment, wastewater and loss of floodplain function are being developed by interdisciplinary teams made up of representatives of the business, environmental, and other caucuses, local governments, local integrating organizations, lead organizations, and academia. Strategies and actions not directly related to achieving targets in those five pressure-reduction areas will be updated only as needed to bring more clarity, and reflect new information and progress. The Partnership will convene very small work sessions of technical and policy experts, including key stakeholders, to update the strategies and identify new actions. For more information on strategy and action development, please click here.

In addition, there are a number of ways for stakeholders and the interested public to provide ideas and comments about the Action Agenda and Biennial Science Work Plan and learn more about what is happening.

  • Partnership Boards and Panels: The Partnership will rely on its Boards and Panels to provide direction and critical review throughout the process. These meetings are public and generally have opportunities for public comment. The Partnership is led by the Science Panel, Ecosystem Coordination Board, and Leadership Council. Check the meeting agendas for times.
  • Local and Interest Group Meetings: The Partnership is working with Local Integrating Organizations/Actions Areas, and the business, environmental, and other caucuses to ensure early and continuous engagement in the Action Agenda. In local areas, contact PSP staff working with the local areas for information on local opportunities to discuss priorities. For interest groups, contact Michael Grayum.
  • Action Agenda Update and Public Workshops: These workshops are designed to engage with stakeholders and the public in strategy and action development at key points in September and October.
  • Public Meetings: Public meetings will be scheduled throughout the Puget Sound area in late September.
  • Online engagement opportunities: an IdeaScale site will be used to solicit broad input on strategies, and actions. Click here to go to the IdeaScale site.
  • Public Review of Draft Action Agenda: The draft Action Agenda and Biennial Science Work Plan will be published in mid-December and comment will be accepted for 45 days.
  • Public Website: The Partnership will keep information up to date on http://www.psp.wa.gov. In addition, anyone can email a question or comment about the Action Agenda update process or content to actionagenda@psp.wa.gov.

If you have comments or questions on this information, please email actionagenda@psp.wa.gov.
