2026-30 Action Agenda update

As a first step in the Action Agenda update process, Puget Sound Partnership and recovery partners are hosting ‘Evaluate and Learn’ workshops to refine the 2022-26 Action Agenda content. These workshops will be a rapid assessment of what has or has not been achieved for Action Agenda recovery topics and will inform the first draft of the 2026-30 Action Agenda. For more information, see the workshop agenda for all Topic updates or register to attend a workshop.

We are updating the Puget Sound Action Agenda

The Action Agenda is our community’s shared plan for advancing Puget Sound recovery. The 2026-30 Action Agenda update will advance progress towards recovery of the Puget Sound’s ecosystem and human wellbeing Vital Signs by building on the foundation of the2022-26 Action Agenda.

Our Vision for the 2026-30 Action Agenda

The Action Agenda should articulate what priority actions and policy changes need to occur over the next four years to accelerate Puget Sound recovery. The 2026-30 Action Agenda update will improve our ability to implement and monitor recovery efforts, and will elevate human wellbeing, climate change, and environmental justice. Updates to the Strategies and Actions will allow PSP, PSP’s Boards, and partners to identify commitments, investments, or geographically specific needs to drive implementation of recovery work. The updated plan will also have more indicators and targets to help us assess the effectiveness of our collective efforts and hold ourselves accountable to making meaningful progress.

What will this update achieve?

The Action Agenda update process follows an adaptive management approach, that will allow us to evaluate and learn what the recovery community did or did not achieve, so we can adjust the Action Agenda (our plan) to improve recovery efforts (do).

  • Elevate and further human wellbeing, climate change, and environmental justice.
  • Elevate and honor Tribal sovereignty and treaty rights.
  • Promote meaningful engagement of diverse audiences, including vulnerable populations (VP) and overburdened communities (OBC).
  • Update the online Action Agenda to improve accessibility and usability.
