Puget Sound Partnership Nearshore Conservation Credit Program

Credit prices

What is the current price for one Nearshore Conservation Credit from the Partnership?

$1,411.00

How does the Partnership set the price for its credits?

A graphic that shows how the Partnership sets the price for conservation credits. The graphic includes a checklist that shows the Partnership looks at a few factors to determine the credit price, including the cost to carry out a set of nearshore conservation projects, the number of conservation credits created by that set of projects, and the possibility of unexpected budget costs as the set of nearshore projects moves from concept to completion. The graphic includes a visualization of that checklist, showing a clipboard with the label Implementation Cost then the division sign and a drawing of an orca and a salmon with the label Conservation Credits then the multiplication sign and a drawing of a calculator with coins and a receipt and the label Budget then an equals sign and a drawing of a sales tag with the label Credit Sales Price.

Does the Partnership generate revenue from the sale of credits?

No. The Puget Sound Partnership is a public agency and does not profit from the sale of credits.

How often does the purchase price of a Nearshore Conservation Credit change?

We review and adjust our credit price annually to ensure it will fully cover the costs of the conservation that we are taking on through credit sales. Credit prices reflect the “going rate” to carry out nearshore conservation projects.
